Why do you feed colonies of cats, doesn't that make the problem worse?
No, it helps to reduce the population of stray cats and their suffering.
Cats are creatures of habit. By feeding cats on a schedule we are able to moniter for any new cats that need to be sterilized or treated for conditions such as mange.
Because they become used to being fed by a human, they are easier to crate or trap for TNR.
They are less apt to roam into yards looking for garbage to eat.
What is TNR?
TNR stands for Trap, neuter, Release.
The cat is humanely trapped, or placed in a crate by hand if possible. It is sterilized, vaccinated and returned to it's colony.
The universal sign of a TNR cat is a clipped ear, although occasionally they are tatooed, or the ear is notched.
